When the business initiate new project, which is transferred to operation without understanding the operational information, it’s a failure. This is what I observed. Taking forward things with an imagination. Not relating to the reality. Based on the project you are not changing employees, couture, and operating procedure. If you change the related component accordingly, it make sense. Otherwise the operational information is very important. Understand the area of project, which is going to touch the operation, capture details of operation. Relate both and make necessary changes accordingly. If it’s addressed only one side it’s going to be hit with road blocks and lead to failure. To address this involve the people who belong to operation and understand the details. Visibility and clarity is very important.
Project Marketing
Companies Information Technology Department (ITD) conceive and execute project. The executed projects not properly marketed or trained to actual users. Most of the time the executed project value not drill down. The IT team known the new product feature and functionality. But it’s not properly shared to end users. The users are busy with their operational activities.
IT team has to prepare a proper action plan to market and share the details of project outcome to users. Share through internal portal, email, noticeboard, and training session. Majority cases it’s only shared a piece of hardware or software with 10 to 20 % awareness. This absolutely give negative feedback of project. Each project conceived based on a proper business requirement and addressing challenges. After execution the proper hand holding not happening.
